Prayer Works!
We always knew we had a special place in our hearts for children fighting horrible diseases and children struggling with traumatic injuries. We have on different occasions used our time and resources to use this feeling as a way to serve others as God calls us to do. For different reasons our endeavors were never truly manifested.
On October 2005, our family was separated due to circumstances following Hurricane Katrina. It was then that God brought us a very special friend. While Sean was at training camp with the New Orleans Hornets in Oklahoma City, he met an 8 year old little boy named Mitchell.
Mitchell had been recently diagnosed with ALA, a form of childhood leukemia. He and his family had such a love for God and they knew that with each victory or bump in the road that their Heavenly Father would never leave them nor forsake them. Mitchell and his family spent every moment of everyday praising God for His grace and mercy to sustain them and crying before His thrown for a healing touch. Through their journey and constant witness, others have been drawn to Christ. I hope one day we can all say that we have grown the body of Christ. They showed us what it truly meant to be a child of God. To love Him in a way that allows His love to flow through you even in your darkest hour. Mitchell and his family are a living testament to Christ's love and His saving power. Through their darkness, They shined so brightly.
It is because of Mitchell and his family, allowing us to walk their journey with them that we now walk this journey with you. THE tEAM is inspired by God to support, encourage, and most of all unite us all in prayer.
Thank you Mitchell, John, Tracy and Meredith for teaching us what it means to "Praise Him in the Storm.”
Our prayer is that we are able to join together with you to "Be happy with those who are happy, weep with those who weep" (Roman 12:15) as "...one body in union with Christ, and we are all joined to each other as different parts of one body." (Romans 12:5)
May the Peace of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ be with you always!
